Hi, I’m Mike Verveer. Your progressive voice for Madison’s Fourth Common Council District in downtown. The General Election will be Tuesday, April 1st.
From pursuing my education at UW-Madison to serving my neighbors on the Common Council, I’ve called Madison home for decades. I’m proud to have played a leadership role in downtown’s growth.

I have a proven track record of increasing affordable housing, improving public transportation, attracting investment, and making Madison safer. But there’s more work to be done. Madison is growing fast, and we need to address the challenges that come with that growth. We need more affordable housing, a sustainable future, and safer communities. I’m committed to solving these issues and continuing to make Madison a place where everyone can live, work, and thrive.

Engaged with the Community
For 30 years, I’ve called Madison home and dedicated my career to serving as Alder. I spend every day meeting with neighbors, addressing their concerns, and finding solutions. My door is always open, but you’re more likely to find me out in the community, working for you.

Effective
In my time, I’ve worked to create a more inclusive and equitable Madison. I’ve supported the LGBTQ+ community, fought for workers' rights, and championed progressive policies. That’s why groups like Progressive Dane, the LGBTQ+ Victory Fund, Dane Dems, and unions have endorsed me—they know I’ll keep fighting for what matters.

I’m as committed today as when I was first elected to improving residents’ lives. We face real challenges, and you deserve to know how they affect you and what the Common Council can do. Most importantly, you should know your alder is working hard for you.
